I have had experience in horticulture and marketing and would love to combine those passions into working with a nonprofit where I would be promoting through social media, websites, and flyers while learning more about plants and promoting the countryside and horticutlure in general. Because of this, I am very interested in moving to Holkham, England, specifically for RHS (Royal Horticulture Society) or Holkham Hall. I am from England and the last time I visited, I realized Holkham was a place I would like to eventually live because of the beautiful countryside, many beaches, lovely temperature, and slower pace of life. My favorit place on earth is Wells Next the Sea, which has about one hundred beach huts being a panoramic around the coast.
Because I am very entrepreneurial and have a passion for horticulture and England, my dream is to own a flower experience garden. To explain more, I would own acres and plant rows of flowers that are annuals (for more seasonal color) and perrenials (that would come back): this would be a benefit to the environment (pollinators), give an opportunity to families to get outdoors and explore fields of flowers, and be a business by allowing individuals and families to cut flowers in the garden to take home (and pay buy weight). Since England has many nonprofits that are similar to arboretums and the interest of the countryside is already very much promoted in England (compared to the United States), I see this as an opportunity to create a niche business.
Currently, I am a university student but I also fill my time with other jobs and hobbies. For example, I currently work for Outschool (where I am an online teacher), North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox (where I research plants, lead photograph efforts, and update the website's database), and my business Emily's Gardening by Design (where in the summers, I do hand-drawn garden designs for clients). Therefore, I am open to working remotely after I graduate through teaching, for one example, to stay in England for a month before I transition to officially moving.
